Advanced Pistol- The course teaches the student how to effectively and safely utilize a semi-auto or revolver. This class reinforces the Basic Handgun Course. It will test combat shooting skills while moving, shooting and engaging multiple targets. Upon completion of the course, the student should be proficient with: handling the gun under stress, Marksmanship, Drawing from a holster in a tactical and rapid manner, Malfunction drills (instinctively assessing and rapidly correcting problems with the handgun), Various firing positions and actions for each, Shooting on the move, Increasing target distances, Running engagement courses, Scenario shooting, Action shooting, Engaging multiple targets at close range distances, Mindset of situational awareness and mental conditioning with a defensive handgun. Force on force live fire scenario utilizing Troy’s Gate will also be set up for students demonstrate their handgun shooting skills. This course can also be conducted as a Women’s only, taught by female Instructor(s).

Defensive Pistol- This course is a follow on to the Advanced Pistol course. Student will get to learn more advanced Pistol manipulation skills such as advanced malfunction clearing drills, incapacitation drills and unorthodox rapid shooting and reloading tactics. Once students show a high-level of proficiency the remainder of this course will be set up conducting advanced live-fire scenarios utilizing Troy’s Gate during reactive live-fire events and shooting from, around and within vehicles. This course is designed around the real world operational experiences of your Instructor cadre.

Advanced CCW Course- This course is the follow on the North Carolina Concealed Carry Weapon course that emphasizes techniques and the practical applications of Concealed Carry issues. We will cover holster selection, equipment set-up and legal considerations. Students will get to run live-fire, realistic self-defense scenarios using Troy’s Gate working through advanced shooting scenarios. Class size limited to 8 students.

Weapons of Opportunity- This course is designed for those that do not wish to or are restricted to carry firearms due to mandates or overseas travel. We will teach the students the use of everyday objects to use them as weapons for self-defense. Employing weapons of opportunity from four categories of improvised weapons that include edged, impact, flexible and personal combatives – this course enables the immediate recognition and effective utilization of any element in any operational environment to be used as an improvised defensive weapon.

Long Range Rifle- This course will introduce the student to accurately shooting their Rifles up to 600 meters. Students will enhance their fundamentals on Bolt and Semi-auto rifles learning rifle sight-in and data book use, basic ballistics, advanced marksmanship drills, slings and position shooting, unconventional position shooting, selection, car and cleaning of precision rifles and optics. Students will also learn about elevation and windage, reticle range estimation, hold calculations and ammunition selection. For select Law Enforcement, Military and qualified private sector citizens, ranges can be extended up to 1,000 meters and to a maximum of 1,500 meters.

Low/No Light Shooting Tactics- This course will teach the student concepts, techniques, and equipment considerations to increase their effectiveness and confidence while operating in low or no light conditions. Topics will center on approaching a target area, low light searching techniques, low light entry methods, armed confrontations and unarmed subject handling. Handheld and Weapon light manipulations will also be taught. We will cover rifles, shotguns and pistols in this course.

Active Shooter Defense and Response- This course will be geared towards Law Enforcement and Special Private Security units that will have a response team of 1-4 responding personnel. Students will learn the active shooter mindset and the mindset of the first-responders, longer range shooting and marksmanship under stress, 1-4 person movement and search techniques, Close Quarter Battle responses, threat identification drills, incident containment and communication techniques will also be taught, on scene incident management for First Responders and trauma casualty care and triage. Sub machinegun, Carbine and handgun manipulations will be stressed.

3-Gun Competition Course- This course is designed for the beginner and intermediate 3-gun shooter that is getting into this rapidly growing sport or has already participated in numerous matches. We will teach the students about proper gear and weapons selection, set-up, weapons manipulations, movement and balance techniques, stress control, multiple target types, close and long range target selection, ammunition and time management, physical and mental fitness and conditioning and run live fire stage scenarios.

Course Length: 16 hours/2 days    Tuition: $ 450.00       Classroom: 4 hours / Range: 12 hours

NRA Basic Pistol Shooting- This class will teach you the basics of shooting. You will be taught ammunition ballistics, firearm operations, how to transport firearms, shooting fundamentals, how to improve shooting skills, shooting positions, how to purchase a firearm, skill development, and actual range time. Each student will be required to provide a firearm and a box of 100 rounds for their own use. This course can also be conducted as a Women’s Only, taught by female Instructor(s).

NRA Basic Rifle- This class will be an introduction to the Tactical Rifle. All students will be fully familiarized with the rifle and the uses and limitations thereof. Rifle handling, manipulation, jam clearing, loading, ammunition and cleaning will be covered in this course. Range time will include basic to tactical shooting using a rifle. Each student will be required to provide a rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition for their own use. This course can also be conducted as a Women’s Only, taught by female Instructor(s).

NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home- This is an intermediate class and the student should have intermediate firearms skills prior to taking this course. Learn about maintaining your skills, avoiding criminal attack, controlling a violent situation, firearms law, weapons selection, the use of cover and concealment, tactical shooting positions, one handed shooting, low light sight alignment, jam clearing, reloading, optional uses to deadly force, shotgun uses and basics. Each student will be required to provide a handgun with which they are familiar and bring 100 rounds of ammunition for their own use and minimum 2 magazines.

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home- This course covers some of the same parameters as Personal Protection Inside the Home and includes concealed carry, equipment set up and carry methods, self-defense tactics, shooting multiple targets, shooting on the move and engaging multiple threats at extended range. Vehicle security and shooting from within and around a vehicle are also taught. Situational awareness, malfunction weapons drills, and small team tactics will also be covered as well as low light-flashlight shooting skills. The legal aspects of defensive shootings will also be covered according to the state laws as presented by our guest speaker. Each student must provide a handgun with which they are very familiar and bring 400 rounds of ammunition for their own use, along with 3 magazines. This course is at an Intermediate and Advanced level. After successful completion the student will receive two course certificates. All students wishing to attend this course MUST have successfully completed Personal Protection Inside the Home prior to acceptance into this course and be at least 21 years of age. Student must bring 400 rounds of pistol ammunition.

NRA Law Enforcement Handgun-  This course teaches students the classroom instructional methods, how to effectively handle pistols and firearm operator skills, and how to develop dynamic and practical range training relevant to their agency's needs. Drills on the range enforce skills in the areas of coaching, accurate shot placement, multiple threats, decision-making, shooting while moving, identifying threats and firing in reduced light, tactical use of cover, concealed-carry training, one-handed malfunction clearing, firing from unconventional positions, and use of verbal commands. Each student makes a classroom presentation and must demonstrate his or her understanding of the course content through a written exam and pass a shooting skills proficiency course.

NRA Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle/Carbine- This course centers on the patrol rifle for officers using iron sights or optics (which must be removed for zeroing exercises). The classroom portion informs students how to teach basic fundamentals of rifle marksmanship and handling, how to zero iron-sighted rifles, and discusses zeroing policy and liability concerns. Range work quickly moves from basic marksmanship to tactical movement, use of cover, various firing positions, pivots and turns, use of the safety circle concept, reloading under stress, firing on the move, multiple threats, decision-making, and reduced light threat identification and firing. Students attending this class are expected to be capable of firing 6 inch groups with a rifle at 50 yards from the prone, sitting, kneeling and standing positions, and possess the ability to make accurate rifle sight adjustments, field strip, reassemble, load and unload their respective rifles, prior to arrival. This course is not for a basic rifle operator.

NRA Tactical Shotgun for Law Enforcement- This course teaches one of the most underutilized tools available to officers because their training has failed to instill confidence in their abilities and eliminate the hesitation they have towards firing the shotgun. This school begins with a focus on the fundamentals of pump and semi-automatic shotguns, ammunition, combat firing techniques, and the shotgun as a multi-purpose launching platform. Advanced range work includes moving targets, firing on the move, multiple threats, decision-making, select loading, speed reloading techniques, transitioning to handgun, one-hand malfunction clearing, identifying threats and firing in reduced light conditions. This is an advanced tactical shooting instructor school, and is not to be considered a basic shooting or methods of firearm instruction course.

SPECIAL:

Tactical Tracking- This course is designed for Law Enforcement and Military units that need to employ tracking capabilities in rural and urban environments. This course shows you how to find lost or fleeing personnel in all terrain types and weather conditions. These techniques will enhance intelligence gathering capabilities, tracking skills and locating contraband or explosive devices that may be hidden. Survival skills, movement techniques, counter assault, situational awareness, take-down drills and live fire exercises will also be covered during this course.

Course Length: 36 hours/3 days    Tuition: $ 900.00             

     

Medical Response for Range Operations- This course is for firearms Instructor and Rage Safety Officers focusing on hands on medical emergency and trauma response training. Having some basic medical training, the proper equipment and skills could save your student’s life. During this course students will learn how to recognize, treat and respond to medical range emergencies. Bleeding control, use of tourniquets, handling traumatic and medical emergencies, medical equipment selection and setting up a medical response plan at the range will be covered.

Anti-Kidnapping and Hostage Survival- This course is designed for the individual, who travels internationally, for either business or personal reasons. During this course you will learn how to implement a realistic security plan and follow procedures. Also how to react and deal with being kidnapped, held hostage or involved in a terrorist situation, in addition to teaching you how to identify and avoid potential problems. Students will learn how to plan for and avoid terrorist and criminal attacks, practical counter kidnapping procedures and responses to deal with a potential hostage taking, discuss cultural environments and problems that you may encounter and learn the procedures taken during a kidnap for ransom scenario. This training is real and will be presented by real world, former military special operations or US intelligence operators that actively work in this area for corporations and clients.

Surveillance/Anti-Counter Surveillance- This course is designed for professional surveillance operators that use and need surveillance/counter surveillance in their lives for work in rural and urban environments. Gaining “real Intelligence” through this application is imperative for military, law enforcement, private investigator and certain citizens. Actual “tradecraft” will be demonstrated and taught to students. You will learn the art and dynamics of foot, mobile and static surveillance. Live field exercises will be conducted. Learn how to operate in low to moderate threat surveillance environments. You will be challenged in this course to learn and apply your skills. Your Instructor are real world operators stemming from the US military, Law Enforcement and Intelligence communities.

Human Trafficking Investigations- This course is designed for Investigators, Law Enforcement, Private Security and/or Rescue Operators, who already possess a high degree of high-risk tactics skills and Investigative background. You will learn to find, identify, recover or coordinate with Law Enforcement the human victims taken/coerced into the sex trade. Students will learn about intelligence gathering, victim indicators, personal and field security for teams. Actual field training exercises will also be conducted.

Executive Protection- This trains the qualified person getting into EP or is already working in this field, more in depth skills on Advance work, close protection skills, vehicle operations and evasive driving maneuvers, firearms handling, intelligence gathering, vehicle arrivals and departures and working with clients and families and team members. Hand-to-hand skills will also be demonstrated and taught in this course as well as live field training exercises and surveillance/anti-surveillance training.
